 The match between Morocco and South Africa in the African Nations Cup qualifiers is the first between the two teams, as they have faced each other on 5 previous official occasions, all of which came in the finals of the competition.


 That was the first meeting between Morocco and South Africa in the quarter-finals of Burkina Faso 1998, and the Bafana Bafana team won with two goals to one.
